How many variant of brahmos supersonic cruise missile India have? And how much deadly they are?

 Brahmos missile is world's fastest supersonic cruise missile with approx 2.8 mach speed and pin point accuracy. It was developed by indo-russian joint venture. It has been going in production since 2006 and it's primary user is Indian army,indian navy and indian airforce.

Till now brahmos  missile's 3 variants are completed,one is surface to surface,air to surface and seas to surface means and it can be fired from any platform. These types are in 3 blocks.

BLOCK-1: ship launch anti-ship missile(anti-ship missile),ship launch land attack Missile,land launch land attack missile,land launch anti ship Missile.

BLOCK-2: It's a advance version of block 1 variant in which Missile stored in canisters and also high in maneuver ability. It can hit any target by doing 360° maneuver.

BLOCK-3: It is also improved version of block 2 with indigenous seeker. This missile is also known as Steve dive missile because it can attack by taking 90° dive on just above target. For navy This missile can attack aircraft carrier.


A submarine launch version of brahmos has also been made which can be used as anti-ship or land attack role. It's air launch version initially operated by IAF su 30 Mki.

Initially all these variants have range of 290 km but now all has upgraded to 600 km range.

Brahmos NG, brahmos 2( hypersonic missile) and brahmos UCaV versions are also in development currently.
