BIG BOOST for Make in India! Finally CCS has cleared deal for 83 mk1A Light combat aircraft!!

 Today the cabinet committee on security (CCS) chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed and formally cleared the procurement deal for 83 Tejas Mk.1A, including 73 single-seat fighters and 10 twin-seat trainers, today in New Delhi.



Indian airforce has planned for complete 324 aircraft in several variants. Batch of 40 tejas mk 1 variant was initially ordered and  and they operated in no. 18 squadron flying bullets. Now 83 tejas mk 1 variant has ordered. Tejas mk 2 Variant is currently in development which will be midium category fighter aircraft with high avionics and it is expected to be ready for production is 2025.

The HAL Tejas named by India's former prime minister Atalji in 2003. The HAL Tejas is India's 4th generation multi role, single engine aircraft designed by aeronautical development agency and manufactured by hindustan aeronautical limited (HAL) for Indian airforce and indian indian Navy.



Indian navy rejected tejas naval variant because they argued tejas had high weighed and can't produced enough thrust for ski jump from their aircraft 

Still in 11 January 2020 LCA naval variant got successful arrested landing on vikramaditya aircraft carrier and it became first ever indigenous aircraft which did successful landing on aircraft carrier.


Tejas is second indigenous supersonic fighter aircraft of India after HAL Marut. Tejas is delta wing configuration with single vertical stabilizer which give Tejas high performance.
